Jeremy Bager
Bassoon
Jeremy Bager is a bassoonist of Swiss and English decent, who studied with Carlo Colombo in Lausanne and Giorgio Mondolesi in Zurich. He was a member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and the Schleswig Holstein Festival Orchestra, and, from 2019 until 2022, academist with the Gewandhausorchester in Leipzig.
Jeremy serves as principal bassoon with the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne between 2023 to 2025, before joining the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra as assistant principal bassoon from 2026. He is regularly invited as principal bassoon with leading ensembles, including Teatro alla Scala Milan, Royal Opera House London, Basel Symphony Orchestra, Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne, Festival Strings Lucerne, Basel Chamber Orchestra, as well as the operas of Frankfurt and Rome. From Singapore to Boston, he has performed in many countries and in Europe's most important concert halls under the baton of renowned conductors, including Andris Nelsons, Daniel Harding, Vladimir Jurowski, Tugan Sokhiev and Herbert Blomstedt.
An avid chamber musician, he participates in various international festivals, including the British Isles, Verbier and Davos (Young Artist 2022) and regularly performs in recital with his pianist brother Frederic Bager, as well as a soloist with various Swiss orchestras.
